Here is a letter by a Roslindale resident who, apparently didn't get any satisfaction from the city after numerous requests. Even Congressman Moakly had to write a number of letters to get the resident's sidewalk fixed. It could have been slow service by the city, but the city fixed the sidewalk repair for the whole street. If services were then, like they are now, the city had to write up a contract bid to do the entire sidewalk, which takes a long time, and there is always a long list. In the long run, the residents of the street must have been very satisfied.
